The gallery may be hired as a solo or group exhibition. We offer 2 or 3 week exhibitions, and other periods by agreement.
A non-refundable deposit of £50 is payable to secure a booking, with the balance of the total fee paid at the start of the exhibition period. Our standard fee is £200 for 2 or 3 weeks, with commission 25% (2 weeks) or 30% (3 weeks).
Cancellations less than two weeks before an exhibition forfeit the whole booking fee.
Exhibitions open on Wednesday morning and close on Tuesday evening, with the exhibition to be hung on the Tuesday evening before opening, from 5pm onwards. Take down is at 5pm on the final Tuesday.
Exhibitors must deliver work to the gallery so that it can be hung from 5pm on the Tuesday evening.
Nice Things will have overall responsibility for displaying the work, but ask that the artist is present during hanging or before to agree layout and the number of pictures to be hung.
Artists need to provide a list of the works with prices and sizes noted, on a spreadsheet if possible. We need these by the Saturday before the exhibition at the latest so that labels can be produced.
The artist may use their own labels, so long as this is agreed prior to the exhibition.
Nice Things needs to receive a biography, artist statement or information sheet, with a photograph of themselves or a piece of work of their choice, a week before the exhibition at the latest, in order that a description poster can be produced.
Works need to be suitably framed and have D-rings attached, which should be set at the top 3 inches of the work for the hanging system to work effectively ie hang straight and not tip forwards.
Artists will have use of a table/desk and may display cards, prints and other related materials.
The gallery has a kitchen area for preparation and storage for any Private View and has glasses, platters, bowls and cloths that can be used. Refreshments should be provided by the artist unless you ask Nice Things to organise this for you.
The gallery will created a facebook event to promote the exhibition through social media and include information about exhibition and any private view/meet the artist through the Nice Things customer mailing list.
Nice Things has full insurance including Public Liability, but artists are encouraged to have their own insurance as well.
A remittance will be produced at the end of the exhibition detailing all sales, commission and amount due to the artist.
